About Your DJ

I got my first start working in radio back in 1988. I was hired on at WCGW 770-AM. It was a small Southern Gospel station in Nicholasville, Ky. I had the chance to work on the air, interview several different groups and artists, do commercial work, and concerts. I moved ‘up’ to the big time in 1990 when I went to K-93 here in Lexington, the number one country station over all. Once again I had the chance to work on air with Kathie Stamps, do commercials, and work right out front with lots of country concerts then… featuring the likes of John Michael Montgomery, Joe Diffee, Pam Tillis, and George Jones to name a few. My last concert was in the summer of 1994 when I got to meet and work with Willie Nelson at Renfro Valley. After the concert, he invited me on to his ‘Honeysuckle Rose’ tour bus and I had the chance to sit down with him for 20 minutes or so. Now how many people can say that they got to sit down with Willie on his bus and talk for a while..?? That was a memory I will never forget. I left K-93 right after that event to start my own business…
